Interesting articles. Glenn Beck has an interesting television show...although it is very opinionated it is also very informative. The last few episodes I have seen were quite interesting. Being from India I have grown up hearing about conflicts over land between the Muslims and the rest of India. He had an episode that was based on extremists which showed how hate was being taught to young children...Today’s focus was more on Iran.
Your response on the question about hell was quite helpful, thank you! It has cleared up a few thoughts that were confusing me. The question i have been thinking about lately was just about communication. Just out of curiosity…when does God stop communicating with man the way he did with Adam and Eve? By the way, i am really sorry i couldnt make it out after dinner, i had to work tonight...Would love to come talk to you sometime though... |

Sorry for the late reply... normally I get an e-mail when a comment is left... and as you can see I have been pretty slack in updating the blog.
Some would say that God has not stopped communicating with man in the way He did with Adam and Eve. They enjoyed a special relationship with God before the fall into sin, obviously, but God has manifested Himself to others through history. Whenever the Bible talks about seeing God, sometimes referred to as an "angel of the Lord" which is then called LORD directly (see Abraham and many of the prophets), a pretty strong case can be made from both Old and New Testament that the witnesses in those cases are seeing the person of Trinity that came to us as Jesus. The LORD that the prophets speak of, Matthew tells us is actually Jesus on the throne. The "Son of Man" over the water in Eziekiel, also, Jesus, and some would say Melchizedek that came to Abraham was also a manifestation of the person of the Trinity that came as Jesus since he was without parents, and had no start or end of his days (Hebrews 7). That may or may not be an important point... because since His coming as Jesus, Jesus said that He had to go that the Holy Spirit could come and so that He could sit at the right hand and intercede for us. That dosn't stop God from being able to communicate and apprear to us physically, but the actions of Jesus did usher in a new age, the church age, under a new covenant.. a new "deal" with God... and that new covenant is based on the presence of His Spirit continually in us, rather than His presence physically among His people as it was in the OT. That being said, in special circumstances, I do believe that God does still appear and speak directly to His children... but it is no longer required for the revelation of Himself or to accomplish His plan for humanity since He was fully revealed and the plan fully accomplished with Jesus.
